As a side project, I love to organize and run events. Fun! It's a perfect way for me to bring together the organizations and people that I love in a fun environment. Also, I'm never too shy to jump on stage or in front of a camera... luckily I've had some fun opportunities to do so. I've also combined my love of being on stage with my experience as a designer and artist through teaching.

Here are a few events with descriptions and photos (where I have them) of some of the things that I've done:

MINK Parties in NYC
September 5, 2007
MINK had been on tour with Perry Farrell's Satellite Party for a solid month when they got to bring it back to NYC for a great show at Irving Plaza. Before the show, I set up a meet-n-greet for the band with press and industry folk. After their amazing performance at Irving Plaza, we celebrated the band and their new CD with a big party at Snitch. The band performed a set (their 4th in one day! rock stars!) to an enthusiastic crowd.
MINK IN Union Square
June 30, 2007
To support the band MINK's single "Talk To Me", I produced a revoving-reporter set for the band members to get passers-by to come over and talk to them. It was a beautiful day and we got to meet healers, contortionists, competitive yo-yo teams, and a cloud photographer.
Rock @ Luna Lounge
June 27, 2007
CD Release Party for Brian Grosz with additional performances by Spottiswoode & His Enemies, The Kin, and The Sad Little Stars (celebrating the completion of their CD). All four bands complimented each other nicely with a range of ecclectic rock sounds. It was a great show!

TQNYC Awards Events
(2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007)
Celebrating students and teachers that participated in the ThinkQuest New York Internet Challenge.
For these events, I was part of the planning team, designed the invitations, program and, as seen in this picture, created the backdrop. The day of the event, I managed the students, organized the volunteers and general production.

TQNYC Training Events
(2002 - 2007)
I held the title of Manager of Educational Services during my time with TQNYC. That entailed setting up training sessions for teachers as well as students either at their school or at an outside location. I would plan the training based on the level and needs of the group, develop curriculum and teach.
PROM!
2007
How often do we 30-somethings get to be decked out like it's prom? So, I rented a space, got two great bands to kick off the night and a couple of dj's to keep everyone dancing. Add 400 balloons, lots of 80's music, an arch for phototaking, and voilà, it's a prom!
Baroness Elsa von Freytag Loringhoven
2006
I was asked by photographer Naomi White to portray the Baroness in a photo shoot. I did a lot of reading and research into her life and character. She was a big part of the Dada movement in the 1920's. She was a bit insane and tended to put herself in the spotlight any accession she could. This was a fully staffed shoot with make-up artist Talia Siegal and a stylist, big lights and people to get me water. The shoot involved many costume and make-up changes, a supporting cast and lots of energy to bring the Baroness to life. Definitely an amazing experience.
iVillage "About Face"
This make-over show hosted on the iVillage website invited me to be a before-and-after model for one of the tapings. I had to sit very still as the make-up artist demonstrated techniques on me. I got to go from 'day-time drab to night-time fab'. Oooh!
9/11 FDNY Benefit
2006
I held a benefit concert with three bands to raise money for the families of two local fallen fire fighters. I spent some time at their fire houses and got to meet the guys who are heroes every day and hear their stories.
Cosmic Joke Collective
2000-2003
The Cosmic Joke Collective was conceived by the amazing Mary-Noelle Dana as a place for artists to present works in progress to an audience of their peers. Music, art, comedy, poetry and theatrics were all a part of it. I came into the Collective as a visual artist and actor. When Mary-Noelle went back to Paris, I took over as the organizer and emcee. The Collective traveled and performed in Paris
Bachelorette Auction
To raise money for a stroke victim with no health insurance, I produced a bachelorette auction to raise money. Who knew selling humans could be so fun? I had the ladies fill out questionnaires that I used as emcee to help get the bidding going and keep the night lively.

Lucky Bitch Bash
Five bands. Five costume changes. I was asked to emcee this event to help create a fun and fabulous vibe. I created costumes to go along with each band. Pictured here is my outfit for the Swimmies introduction! I was even a birthday cake! My improvisational antics kept the spirits high between each band.

Video short for Brooklyn Roach Multimedia
This was a project for Comcast/HBO/Lucas Films where they wanted people to be characters applying to go to the Jedi Academy. There was no script, just a bit of character development. I got to the be seductress... since we ladies know how to use 'The Force'.
Unknowns' Valentine's Bash
This motorcycle club hosts parties at their clubhouse in Brooklyn. It has been my pleasure to support them and expose people to their culture. I worked as a promoter for this party and brought a large crowd to celebrate the big hearts of these brothers.
